Infantile idiopathic scoliosis: Around 2% of the women and around 0.5% of men are effected by Scoliosis. Since the reasons behind this order is unknown, it is called idiopathic scoliosis. The type of scoliosis varies depending on the age group that is affected by it. Children who are affected by scoliosis when they are below 3 years, is called as Infantile idiopathic Scoliosis whereas children, aged 3-10 years, if affected by scoliosis, it is called Juvenile Idiopathic Scoliosis.

Causes: There are four types of Scoliosis in which the following two affects children:

  1. Functional: This type of Scoliosis usually occurs because there’s a curve in the spine which is caused by one leg shorter than the other or by some other problem.
  2. Neuromuscular: This type of scoliosis is developed because there is a problem in bones of the spine, when they are formed. This might happen because the bones of the spine are not formed fully or because they are not detached from each other during the process of fetal growth. This type of scoliosis occurs usually in people who also have other ailments, like birth defects.

We offer Infantile scoliosis treatment: There are two types of massage therapies that can help in improving this condition -

  1. Cranial-Sacral Therapy – By giving mild strokes on the tissue patterns located near and around the spinal column, dural tube and adipose tissue, cranial-sacral therapy can improvise the flexibility of the body.
  2. Deep Tissue Massage – Deep tissue work and supported stretching methods to hypertonic muscles can enhance blood flow and can relieve muscle pain.
